Ms. Camacho has over 10 years of experience in developmental work in Guyana at the grassroots and policy levels. She possesses significant experience in project management, fostering multi-stakeholder cooperation, financial and extractive transparency, monitoring and evaluation, and public diplomacy. She previously worked as a Consultant for local and foreign agencies. In addition, she worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Delegation of the European Union, among other reputable organisations.
She holds a Master's Degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, and is a member of the Club de Madrid. Ms. Camacho is a former board member of the Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GY-EITI), serving in this capacity from 2017-2022.
Gomin is also the Founder of Guyana Environment Initiative (GEI), a youth-driven organization focusing on environmental education across Guyana. In recognition of her work through GEI, Ms. Camacho received the National Youth Award for Service in Conservation and Protection of the Environment in 2019 and the CARICOM Women in Sustainable Energy (WISE) Award in 2022.
Ms. Gomin Camacho currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Ethnic Relations Commission for the period 2023-2026.
